I Hope you are Happy…
“I hope you are happy.” It is one of the most soul-crushing statements to deliver.
It’s not said out of anger or revenge, it is said out of acceptance.
If you are familiar with the 5 stages of grief, then you know that acceptance is the final stage, and that’s when you know you have tried it all and nothing worked.
It holds no malice towards the recipient.
It doesn’t hold hope.
It doesn’t hold joy.
It is just there to convey that you have accepted the decision and decided to move on. Although it may contain a little bit of regret, it doesn’t show.
I had to do this far too many times in my life that I have become immune to other stages of grief. I always go right into acceptance and just sit there embracing the decision.
Once you accepted something, then there’s nothing that can convince you otherwise. It’s a resolve that is not faltering. It’s not a sign of a weak person who couldn’t make any changes, but a sign of someone who tried.
Then again, It’s the most innocent way of saying that you were happy but not any more, but it doesn’t matter as long as someone else is happy.
So,
I hope you are happy.
